April 24th, 2008MORGAN CITY ROTARY CLUB members hosted the RYLA participants who spoke of their experience from last years camp RYLA held at Lake Fausse Point State Park, at a recent luncheon at the Petroleum club. RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Award which is Rotary’s leadership training program for young people. RYLA participants can be ages 14-30, but most clubs and districts choose to focus on a narrower age range, such as 14-18 or 19-30. Governor’s Update
April 24th, 2008The Presidential Citation is the gold standard for a well-balanced Rotary Club. Earning it shows that key attention is being given to each of the 4 Avenues of Service and other factors vital to growing and maintaining a healthy program. A whopping 80% of our clubs have qualified to receive this prestigious award, which will be presented at the District Conference by RI President’s Representative Johnny Robertson. Many other club awards will also be presented at the District Conference, along with outstanding golf, entertaining programs, fun events and great socializing. A list of the “Top 10 Reasons to Attend” is included in this issue, along with an article highlighting the exciting activities available for spouses, children and guests. Alzheimer’s Association “Memory Walk”
